I’ve been buying the last few issues of the amazing digital sewing magazine One Thimble, but until now have not got around to sewing the patterns. New Years’ Resolution 2017! Here I am.
During December we celebrate the two most important birthdays – my little munchcakes. This year Buggy had a circus party. She had been planning all year; I had been planning for about 4 years since I saw a circus dress on the.girl.inspired – alas the link doesn’t work now.
Happy 2017 everyone!
Wow, the end of last year was a cracker with loads of work deadlines, my hubby’s 40th and the usual crazy finish of celebrating my two kids’ birthdays right before Christmas! However, somewhere amidst all that, after a bit of a sewing hiatus, I managed to drill out 10, yes, 10, zippered pouches for Christmas gifts!
Bambi who? Bambiblauw! Yep, this is a gorgeous fabric line from Belgium distributed by my good friend Maaike from maaidesign in Sydney. You may remember the husky dress I made from the same series.
I discovered sewing when I was pregnant with my daughter but I wasn’t adventurous or addicted enough at that stage to tackle the range of baby outfits that I now find myself swooning over. Next baby was a boy, so these sweet little gems with their ruffles and adornments still passed us by. So, I’m taking advantage of a slew of friend’s babies born this year to make some of these dreamy numbers.
Finally, spring is here! The advent of the invasive but beautiful wisteria opposite our house and the new blooms on our property have spurred me on to get out and start taking an interest in the garden again. A bit of sweeping here, a bit of weeding there, and before I know it I can spend the day overhauling what’s been neglected for some solid months.
Hi everyone! This week sees me part of MaaiDesign’s blog tour of her new fabric line – See You at Six!
