FRB Hoodie Vest: One Thimble Issue 11

I’ve been buying the last few issues of the amazing digital sewing magazine One Thimble, but until now have not got around to sewing the patterns. New Years’ Resolution 2017! Here I am.

Zippered Pouches for Christmas

Happy 2017 everyone!

Wow, the end of last year was a cracker with loads of work deadlines, my hubby’s 40th and the usual crazy finish of celebrating my two kids’ birthdays right before Christmas! However, somewhere amidst all that, after a bit of a sewing hiatus, I managed to drill out 10, yes, 10, zippered pouches for Christmas gifts!

A Homemade Christmas and Journey South

Happy 2016 folks!

I’m back finally after skimming my favourite bloggers’ wraps of 2015 over this festive period as we travelled from Sydney to Melbourne to Tasmania and back (via Walbundrie!). It’s been hectic but by the end I think I found my groove eating lots and moving less. Hmm, relaxing, but not good on the waistline!

Anna Blouse

I had big plans on making a few shirts for myself this winter and the plan is unravelling. We go to Fiji this week and when we get back winter could almost be over. Continue reading “Anna Blouse”

Gallery Tunic

This season, my goal has been to drill out some shirts for winter and find a few favourite patterns to sew for me. I figure it’s just a matter of trial and error to find something that sits just how I want it to. First up: Liesl + Co’s Gallery Tunic. When I saw this fabric in Spotlight and it’s super cheap price ticket I jumped at it. In a way it was serving as my ‘muslin’ but in the end I love it!  Continue reading “Gallery Tunic”

Cappuccino Dress

Following my Sencha blouse disappointment, I needed a pick-me up to get me back on the horse sewing for myself. It just so happened there was an Oliver + S sew-along happening a couple of weeks back for the Cappuccino dress. I began as the group did, but soon fell behind as I had a hectic week! But by the weekend I was done and in love with my new outfit. This is a pretty easy sew with gathers at the front under the yoke and lined pockets (you can just make them out in the image below). Continue reading “Cappuccino Dress”
