Despite our crazy December that entails both kids’ birthdays (this year two parties!) in the lead-up to Christmas, I managed to sew Buggy’s Christmas PJs on time!
The Ashlynn top can also be made as a full-length nightie that can include a ruffle hem, or not, and a wide or slim skirt. You can also choose either an inside elastic casing or outside ribbon casing which I did with my lace. I also added extra lace to the bottom of the casing for a fuller lacy look!
This fabric is one of my favourites. I love how it looks like a watercolour painting! It came in a few different shades but this one was so pretty; but as Buggy is leaning away from pink these days I needed to draw out one of the other colours in the palette for the shorts.
The Charlotte bottoms can be made as shorts, pantaloons with ruffle or long pants. I love the ‘paper-bag’ ruffle top it features and I think these are super comfy for sleep time.
My only complaint with these PJs is that they sit quite high under the arm. Doesn’t seem to bother Buggy but I hope she gets the wear out of them. On the plus side I love the versatility and options of both patterns and so by easily lengthening the straps next time I have a bunch of options to keep me going in future! If I had to choose PJ pattern favourites the Made for Mermaids Dreamy Collection vintage PJs stand out for me that I made last year but the VFT patterns are really simple to make, so during the Christmas rush they are a great go-to!
And maybe one day, I will get some Christmas PJs made for Hamster rather than resorting to another version of Star Wars!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours.
