Happy Valentine’s Day!
Purl Soho is known for their beautiful knit patterns and kits. I wish I knew how to knit proficiently as I save many patterns but complete none. So this month they posted a project I could complete: sweet Valentine’s pendants. (on further reflection, please don’t compare mine to their lovelies!)
What should have been an easy 5-minute project turned out a bit wonky at first as I personally think the template is a little squishy. My prototype heart (red bottom right) was so small and fiddly for sewing inside out on the machine, I was completely frustrated after one attempt. So after this one, I decided to opt for a more rustic sew with blanket stitch on the outside, suggested by my sewing buddy in crime during one Thursday night gossip/craft session.
Buggy loves hearing the story about how I used to place my t-shirt in her crib as a baby to help her sleep with the natural smell of her mama under her crown, so I decided I’d spritz these hearts with my favourite daily perfume for a similar effect when worn.
My family is Star Wars crazy, so I thought I’d also try my hand at some small Star Wars Valentine’s cards to go with the pendants. These are doing the Pinterest circuit so I thought I’d whip up my own.
Wishing you love around the world!
xx

Very cute! I prefer the stitching on the outside, looks really handmade but in a really nice way, like you put a lot of love into it 😉

These are adorable, and you chose such fun fabrics! The blanket stitch does really add a lovely touch. And Star Wars valentines are the best kind!
